This project aims to collect GPS positions of persons acting in intermountain areas. The position packets are transmitted by radio, collected by the receiving system located at the Mt. Fuji summit and are relay to the internet. The APRS, which is a packet relay system operated voluntarily by armature radio operators, is employed. Improvement in coverage area including areas out of cell-phone is expected. Coverage area, distance, geographical relationships will be studied. In this year, system requirements and necessary hardware and software conditions were studied.
