Longtime observation of nitrogen dioxide during summer at summit of Mt. Fuji

Name of research institute or organization:
Teikyo University of Science

Title of project:
Longtime observation of nitrogen dioxide during summer at summit of Ft. Fuji

Project leader and team:
Ryuichi WADA

Project description:

Atmospheric nitrogen oxides (NO, NO2) were measured at the top of Mt. Fuji during the summer in 2014. The concentration of NO was under the detection limit (0.1 ppb) during the observation. The concentration of NO2 was 0.8 ppb on August 17 and 0.5 ppb on August 24.

The NO2 concentration showed a good correlation with the O3 concentration. It indicated that there were three groups of the data which showed different environments of the areas where the air came from.

Our mission

The mission of MFRS is to support and enhance the activities of researchers and students in various fields of science and education by maintaining and providing a unique Research Station atop Mt. Fuji.
